Stress: The Extinction Agenda - Organized Konfusion [1994]

"How does one define an underrated classic at the level of 'Stress: The Extinction Agenda'. Sure, Organized Konfusion turned heads with their self-titled debut which can sort of be labeled as the underground's 'The Low End Theory'. As anyone familiar with hip-hop knows, Organized Konfusion possesses an extremely fluent poet in the form of Pharoahe Monch who literally gives probably the best rap performance ever on this record. His style is one of a kind, and those who label him as the second coming of Rakim are right on point. He has proven time and time again that he is a genius lyricist and his two solo records 'Internal Affairs' (1999) and 'Desire' (2007) are testaments to his prowess behind the mic. His partner in crime Prince Po delivers in an extreme contrast to Monch, his style is just as conscious but usually completely to the point which is definitely a nice counter to Monch's very hefty rhymes." - pixiesfanyo

I'm dead serious here. This is probably one of the greatest rap albums of all time.

Fucked up Friends - Tobacco [2008]

Tobacco sometimes runs with a group called Black Moth Super Rainbow. On Fucked Up Friends, his latest mission, he works alone.

Tobacco's tools are analog synths, tape machines, and deformed incantations from throats unknown. His music is a wash of distortion and melody over jagged beats. It amalgamates hypnotic, cosmopolitan pop, gritty, propulsive hip-hop and a night full of fevered dreams. It buoys the spirit, braces the nerves, and smuggles disoriented paranoia deep into the subconscious. These are anxiously driven, effortlessly smooth and unapologetically badass sounds of inner nature.

Fucked Up Friends is a collection of boombox rockers that sidestep lazy nominalizations as they weave their cryptic inferences. "Hairy Candy"echoes the summer-fixated celebrations of BMSR, but with a dark, fevered perimeter. "Hawker Boat" and "Dirt (Instrumental Version)" strain stadium-rock grandeur through a dirty filter and serve it with rocks and salt. "Side 8 (Big Gums Version)," "Backwoods Altar" and "Get My Nails Did" expose a deep menace beneath their enticing rhythms - they get stuck in your head like sinister get-rick-quick schemes.

As a whole, the album establishes a one-man genre. Even with the latest tape-to-tape dubbing technology, Fucked Up Friends can't be duplicated.

Tobacco hails from rural Pennsylvania. He does not desire contact with the public at large.

Alopecia: The Demos!! - WHY? [2008]

Rough demo versions from Alopecia. I bought this at their show in emo's during SXSW.

I love demos. Especially when they're demos from albums i really love. Its very interesting to see how the songs evolve, especially after listening to the finished product.

Brigadoon - P:ano [2005]

A 22-track masterpiece. P:ano's sound is a diversity of musical and thematic interests, and the band members play several instruments. The vocals on this release are beautifully executed by the band. There is a good mixture of male/female vocals along with some tremendous harmonies. P:ano is a band that reminds me of several groups that I already admire and listen to. You can hear bits and pieces of neutral milk hotel, magnetic fields, saturday looks good to me, and half handed cloud on this cd. To be specific tracks 5 and 7 sound like electronic pop songs of the magnetic fields. The female singer sounds similar to the vocalist in saturday looks good to me. (especially on pure evil) Overall the tracks on this disc are consistently great due to the high quality songwriting talents of band leader nick krgovich.

The Unseen - Quasimoto [2000]

Man....words cannot describe the feeling that i got when i heard this cd. there is no other hip hop album like it in my opinion, and i have heard some clever ones. it's like he took what MF DOOM was doing and just did something else with it. my favorite tracs on here is Boom Music and part 1 of DISCIPLINE 99. i am a sucka for that helium-filled sound. it goes against the grain, and i love artists who do that, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!! get it, close your doggone eyes, use headphones for better effect, and enjoy!!!!

I can't help but to say this album has some exceptional and rather creative tracks. The album starts out as a confessional of the Madlib alter-ego Quasimoto but descends into madness, which makes it rather humorous at times. The beats and melodies are top notch too...

WASHERE - subtle [2008]

Pretty good compilation of live songs and demos from the band. I got this from Dose himself at the subtle show a few weeks ago. Its handmade and pretty dope and i believe you can only get a physical copy at their shows.

I was kind of expecting a live bootleg from any of their amazing shows, but still the live songs sound pretty good. The demos and the jams aren't that bad either...

I recommend you to listen to Swanmeat.

The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place - Explosions In The Sky [2003]

This one is definitely the type of album that fits in the "albums that have changed my life" category. Explosions in The Sky are one of the first post-rock bands i heard during my emo-agnsty-post-music phase. Not really but yeah, if you don't like this album, it is probably because THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR MUSICAL TASTE.

idk i love this album check it... asap

Every Direction Is North - El Ten Eleven [2007]

Pretty cool album i discovered on waffles a few weeks ago. El Ten Eleven is a 2-man instrumental band that have a very unique electronic sound. They combine guitar/bass arrangements with some sick looping and sampling.

Check it out, he's got a song called Dax Pierson. For those of you who don't know of Dax, he's a member from subtle who got in a really nasty accident and left paralyzed from the chest down when the Subtle tour van hit a patch of black ice in Iowa during their US tour.

Anyway, this album is quite relaxing and i think everyone would like it.

Presage - Future Primitive Sound [1998]

Mr. Dibbs, Jerl and Doseone (anticon.) of the 1200 Hobos.

Not straight hip hop MC material, but instead, an atmospheric mix of samples, beats and spoken work bits. All the tracks, all 13 of them, deal with various conspiracy theories in an abstract way -- from the Illuminati to the New World Order and Trilateralism to credit cards and bar codes, but they've still got a sense of humor. A 60 minute sound collage that could be background music of sorts, but still keeps your attention. In a nice package with a cover painting of conspiracy theory symbols done up in sort of a Jean-Michel Basquiat style
